Milwaukee Career College Grad Bridget Meehan

Veterinary Assistant Grad Bridget Meehan“Earlier this summer I completed the Veterinary Assistant program through Milwaukee Career College. It was the best decision in regards to schooling that I have ever made. School was fun, and school was interesting. I soaked up the knowledge and hands-on experience so quickly. Faster than I ever had in my undergrad Biology courses. My externship clinic experience was also great. And it even ended with a job offer, which I gladly accepted! Now I want to further my education and continue onto the MCC  Veterinary Technician Program this fall.

“My original goal in life was to become a Veterinarian. However, chemistry quickly squashed that dream. Now that I have found myself in the Veterinary world as an assistant, I am hooked. Education is very important to me. I want to gain as much knowledge as I can get my hands on and be as useful to the DVM as possible. Veterinary Technicians have more schooling, training, and are therefore qualified to perform more tasks in the clinic. I want the schooling and training to allow me to run lab work, do dentals, assist in surgery, and just learn more.

“My thirst for knowledge in this field and my studies, my confidence and my determination to succeed helped me shine in the assistant program. You will see me do the same in VT. Day one of VA I had developed a plan for success; a daily planner that marked off the times I needed to study, the “me time” to take breaks and keep my head about me, and blocking off time for school related opportunities such as surgery days and career fair. My planner will look similar as I start my journey of the VT program.”

OUR REVIEWS

Amanda Krebs

While I was a student at MCC I had an amazing time. All the teachers took the time to get to know their students, even Dr. Cybela. I was able to learn hands on in the career, and Mcc helped me find a Job in the field I studied. This is a great school, and I am glad I was a student.

"My time at MCC was amazing! The faculty and staff genuinely care about each and every student. I couldn’t thank Mrs. Hoover, Mrs. Jordan, and Mrs. Buckley enough for teaching us the knowledge and skills we need to succeed in the medical field. Hard work and dedication landed me an externship I could only dream of with Froedtert Hospital. I am beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to accept an offer and start my career as a medical assistant with Froedtert Hospital. Dream. Achieve. Succeed."
