Teacher with a group of students in the background

Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week is something that students and schools across the country love to do each year. Celebrating teachers and the hard work they do is a great way to let them know how much they’re appreciated.

Teachers have given back to society for centuries. During the week of May 6-10th, we set aside some time to appreciate the daily sacrifices teachers make to better their communities. Here are a few ways you can show the teachers in your life how important they are to you!

Host An Appreciation Luncheon

Hosting an appreciation luncheon doesn’t have to be a drawn-out process. Even if it’s something small, hosting a luncheon for the teachers in your life is a great way to show them how much they are appreciated. Even just simply having hor d’oeuvres, sandwiches, and chips with a light dessert can go a long way. It doesn’t have to be fancy to be effective. Your teachers will appreciate it regardless!

Host An Afternoon Social Event

These socials can take on a variety of different forms from an ice cream social to an afternoon tea. A nice little break in the day is something any busy teacher can come to appreciate. It’s a great way of saying “thanks” and letting them know that what they do everyday matters and makes a difference in the lives of others.

Host a Car Wash

Anyone likes a free car wash! Hosting a car wash is a great way to show teachers that they are appreciated. While they prepare lessons and handle their responsibilities, cleaning their cars can allow them to have one less thing to worry about. It’s a small gesture, but it shows gratefulness, and they won’t forget that.

Decorate the Teacher’s Lounge

Decorating the teacher’s lounge is a fun way to let them know you appreciate what they do every day! Decorating the school grounds with “thank you” posters, signs, and other decorations can go a long way. It will also remind others to “thank” teachers for their hard work when they see the decorations.

Spread Decorations Around the Entire School

If you want to go the extra mile, consider decorating the entire school for Teacher Appreciation Week! Spread “thank you” decorations for your teachers and other school staff to enjoy. Decorating the entire campus will take a bit more work but that extra effort will show how much you care!

Teachers work hard every day to educate students for generations to come. May 6th – 10th is a great time to show teachers how much they mean to you. Make sure you take the extra time to celebrate this year!
