“A full 80 percent of physicians use smartphones and medical apps, and more than one-quarter of physicians use mobile technology, to provide patient care, according to an infographic by medical app developer Great Call,”FierceMobile IT reported. “In addition, 93 percent of physicians believe that mobile health apps can improve patient health, and the same number see value in patients having a mobile health app connected to the emergency health system. Mobile healthcare is predicted to be a $26 billion business by 2017, with half of smartphone users expected to download mobile health apps in that year.”
Today’s medical professionals are required to work with technology on a scale never seen before, and that include medical assistants, who work with a variety of technology programs when it comes to charting patient records and communicating with employees.
Medical assistants, which provide valuable support to both clinical and administration staff in a healthcare facility, are in high demand all across the country, especially as the number of patients being treated by the healthcare industry is growing every year.

Combined EHR/practice management systems can streamline billing and reduce the number of billing personnel needed.”
This may not sound like a good thing when it comes to jobs, but the growing use of technology and automation will actually create a higher need for medical assistants. Medical assistants who work in the administrative part of the healthcare industry will be needed to manage these new systems and they will be the human worker who accepts the intake information and data, ensuring that it gets properly charted.
